Total War
Total war involves countries using full military power and resources. There is unrestricted terms against the enemy when it comes weapons or tactics used. Victory is a must and the country's leaders are willing to sacrifice any amount of lives or resources in order to win. Both World Wars are examples of total war.
Korean Conflict- What was the fighting like?
The fight took place along the border of the 38th parallel in Korea. Fighting was intense with more than 5,000,000 deaths between citizens and soldiers. Many bloody battles were fought which led to nicknames like the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. Huge dog fights involving fast jets took place in the skies above Korea. Bombing took places frequently causing mass destruction.

Limited WarLimited wars are more objective based and not solely about destroying the enemy. In Limited War military power and resources are conserved. An example would be the Vietnam War in which Northern Vietnam was communist controlled. The North Vietnam government wanted to take total control over southern Vietnam and turn it into a communist state.
